airtel iptv is fine. the only problem is lack of new channels and the time taken while switching channels. there is also no usable electronic program guide.

Actually 100GB download quota on 1 mbps line is not bad.
Theoretically, a 1 mbps unlimited line can be used to download no more than 300 GB in a month, if the connection is running at full speed 24 hours a day for all 30 days of a week. Since Airtel is counting both download and uploads in 100 GB quota. That is approx 80 GB download and 20 GB upload on torrents. So you will get to use torrents for 6-7 hours a day on an average before the 100 GB quota is exhausted. That is not bad at all.
They should look into introducing even cheaper plans like 30 GB download quota at 1 mbps followed by downgrade to 256 kbps unlimited at around Rs. 600 or 700 per month.
yeap thats what is needed the most.
cheaper 1/2 mbps plans with decent limits with logical downgrades![]()

Hey guys im airtel broadband customer from mumbai airtel. Airtel being one of the best internet connection i have been using and i always used to vouch for the Customer service airtel gives.
Here i go with my story with airtel about upgrading my plan (2 MBPS Unlimited). I got such call around 3 weeks back, i told the marketing dept. person to upgrade to the new plan but it still hasn’t been changed. Today again I have mailed back to them let’s hope it works out this time. I’m attaching the conversations between me and the CC below.

I asked the representative that I wanted to switch to the same, and i was told by him that the plan will be activated within 3 days. I called up the customer care today and they say there is no such request.
Please take this email as my request and change my plan to the below mentioned plan. Please do the needful and oblige.

They called me up and said that due to error in system they will change my plan but other facilities which come with the plan will get activated within 10 working days. The other facilities being Unlimited Games on demand (GOD) + Free PC Secure and stuff. Obviously i was only intrested only in 2 MBPS so i told them its k and just upgrade my package to the new 1.

I asked them what is my current plan and they say its 1 MBPS unlimited: D.. lolz I made that request a year back and they are calling me now for the completion << man they are slowafter a while I got a email reply from them which is mentioned below

This is the THIRD request for the same from my side my previous conversations with you are attached below.
I received a call from airtel marketing dept. couple of days back about a new plan 2 MBPS unlimited which costs Rs. 2499. I told the representative that I wanted to switch to the same, and I was told by him that the plan will be activated within 3 days.
Then on 18 June, 2009 I sent you my FIRST MAIL requesting for the same plan since my plan did not change. I did get a call from your customer care saying that there is an error in your system due to which the plan will be migrated within 3 working days but other facilities which is packaged with the plan would take around 10 working days time to be activated (Services live free Anti Virus + Games On Demand, etc). I agreed to that and then I received a response via mail from your side the reference number for the same is: 83703737.
On 28 June 2009 I sent you my SECOND MAIL requesting a resolution on the above mentioned matter but I just received a reply from your customer care saying that the complain is registered with us and the conflict will be resolved soon. I got a response VIA mail saying that a representative will get in touch with me shortly. I did get a call from your representative but he didn’t even know what the problem was he was just saying that your request has already been completed and your plan change is successful. But when I asked him what’s my current plan he said It's 1 MBPS UNLIMITED COSTING 2222 + TAXES which is my current plan. He then said he'll look into the matter and give me a response. Still there is no response from your side.
I would like you to give me a definite answer that how long will it take to complete my request.

Thats there...but i got to know about the 1299 plan for unlimited 1mbps plan(thru my friends.)..I then went to the Airtel office and pissed them off and got myself the plan...LOL...and i even friggin threatened them that next time i dont get a call from them or a notification..then ill disconnect my connection..Hehehe......lol..it was friggin fun !!...will be gettin one after three days...and i also asked them about Fair Usage Policy..he told me that this 1299 plan was for priviledged customers..so Fair Usage Policy will not be implememnted on the plan...LUCKY GUY...
