Though of course if it means getting sucked into the Fair Usage Policy I may not (or at least cut the clauses on the contract that pertain to Fair Usage Policy, and make a note somewhere that I am accepting on the assurance that no Fair Usage Policy would be applicable on the plan).

I got the same call and the plan got activated today.
Make sure you have clarified with Customer Care.
This one has a Fair Usage Policy of 100GB. Once you cross that speed would be reduced to 512kbps till your next billing cycle.
