airtel is very good in terms of service reliability and speed (as per the relevant plan).
no worries on that front.
Hello,
I recently got a visit by Airtel sales people who described an unlimited internet plan of 256 kbps for Rs 600/- per month.
I am currently using BSNL's 900UL plan (which, I think, now is 700/- per month, and adding tel. charges it amounts to around Rs. 900/-), which is also 256 kbps.
I assume Airtel's 600/- plan would also include taking an Airtel's tel number. So the total charges, including the phone charge, would amount to around 800/- per month (?)
I was wondering if somebody has information regarding the comparison of these two plans (except the cost). How is Airtel's connection quality, speed performance and customer service compared to BSNL's?
For the record, I have hardly ever had any problem with BSNL since the last 2 or 3 years since I have been using their plan. A relative of mine is in a position where he wants to get a new broadband connection, and I am still thinking which one should I recommend to him.
Regards.

I would recommend Airtel. But then I am an Airtel Fanboy![]()
There would be some Tax which will amount to 600+
If you look at the packages you might be able to get it in an offer where you get some calls free or some other additional package.
Phone is free with the DSL.

Interesting. I wasn't aware that the phone is free (probably missed that when the salesman tried to explain all the stuff).
So I understand that if I were not to use any phone calls, then the monthly cost would be 600/- + tax for this scheme? And phone calls would be in addition to that?
If I were to try to get some free phone calls, what offer should I expect? Or what should I bargain for?
Thanks!

you have to see what is included in the broadband package.
it might have some free calls. if not, you would pay for any calls made using that phone.
if you just need the broadband connection, do not apply for the phone instrument. i think they charge a bit extra for that.
taxes are normal with any such service. i dont think any company advertises prices inclusive of the taxes which comes to around 10.x%
so 600 bucks would come to around 665.
