I dont know if they allow this but they shud allow paper bill too.
MTNL/Reliance Energy both send me e-mail as well as paper bills.
someone should ask them... whether they would take printed copies of e-bills as a documented proof of residence? apparently no one accepts them. everyone wants the original copy sent to you by your telephone company.

my last experience was with aircel. i had taken a printout of an e-bill from airtel. they flatly refused to accept it. i did not have a colored printer so it was of course in grayscale. they said we do not accept photocopies. what fun.

trai guidelines state paper bills are mandatory.guess airtel doesnt care
airtel has a similar offer. they just use the environment issue as an excuse to save money on sending paper bills (obviously).
i don't think anyone here would agree to the excuse that switching to e-bills would do much in conservation of environment.
anyways. who else here can confirm that these same telecom companies would refuse to provide you with a new connection unless you can provide them with an original paper bill?![]()

trai probably require these companies to provide paper bills for free as an option. i dont think they would enforce such a ruling if the customer himself has no issue with just the e-bill.

yeap i remember that incident. and probably that resulted in a regulation.
trai also of course has regulations for interoperability related to DTH STBs. no one cares. right?

Telecom regulator Trai on Thursday mandated all service providers to provide a hard copy of the bill free of cost to its post-paid
subscribers. The order would be effective from January 24, and applicable across all types of tariff plans of mobile — GSM and CDMA — and fixed line services, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) said in a statement here.
I had submitted my Reliance Broadband bill print out to get an aircel connection and there was no problem, The retailer happily accepted it as my address proof.
airtel is getting on my nerves.first they fup us and now this.
admin we must do something about it.should we sue airtel in a consumer court? and did you sent a letter to TRAI
that was good. my experience has been different. reliance bills are flatly refused for being not reliable!![]()
airtel gets better treatment.
in the end, i have to rely on bank statements and a voter ID card.
