Apple iPhone: Apple iPhone 3G problem with Idea's Edge Connection

you should have read the reviews first. using such sim cards has caused problems in using edge networks in many cases.

I have read in many article regarding this. I am also using iphone 3g with turbo sim unlocked and idea connection. I have solved the issue as directed in many articles.

Remove your sim from the turbo pack and put it in any of the gsm mobile having edge facility and enable Edge and browse one site. You can see E is on the mobile. Switch off the mobile and take back the sim as fast as possible and put back to your iphone with turbo sim. Then onwards you will get Edge in your iphone.

How do I configure Edge settings on my first-gen iPhone ? I am using an Idea prepaid connection. Please help me.

try sending Sms SET to 54671 (toll free)

if you dont get settings then, set it up manually.

goto settings>general>network>edge
Access point name: imis
leave username and password blank
Proxy serv. address: 10.4.42.15:8080

set that access point as default or whatever.

I have the settings and apn is fine, but where do I put proxy settings in iPhone ?
I tried http://www.modmyi.com/forums/t-mobil...-pac-file.html , but it doesnt work for me.

I am wondering how people over here got it working on their iPhones

Even I am looking out for this answer as to where to put the proxy settings on my iPhone to be able to connect using GPRS/Edge. I have a Idea connection on my iPhone 3G and using Edge network (as I can see 'E' against my network status).

i face the same problem.. don't see any field to enter the proxy ip address
