Just finished transition a 2G Sim to 3G using the SMS method. Took about 2hrs and I rebooted my phone once I got the SMS confirmation. I can see a tiny 3.5G up near the network strength meter now. HSDPA doesn't seem to be working....no idea how to go about getting it up and running. I keep sendng my Handset and Model to 58355 and it keeps responding that the format is invalid (NOKIA 5800). Typical BSNL so I'm not surprised they might have teething problems initially.

HSDPA = 3.5G = the little icon you see beneath the network strength meter.

Please help me with the SMS to enable 3G. Is there something i should do before I am able to use it??

    Thanks in advance.

Will do that. I got this BSNL Sim just today. I was on AirTel till now. Try turning off and turning on, or hold the home+power button for about 30 seconds until the phone turns off and the apple logo appears (dont let go until it appears). Give it about 5 minutes from then. Try that. I will update about the service tomorrow.
But I must say apart from the stuff I usually do with my regular carrier, I didnt do anything else. It showed up all by itself after I let it sit about 10 minutes. so... yea. Have a good night. Will update.
