FM transmitters with audio input are available for under Rs. 1000. Any FM tuner in the vicinity can get the laptop output. My pc speakers have conked off; I am planning to take this route, as any radio or hi-fi unit with fm tuner will pick the music or audio.

I send my audio wirelessly to my 2.1 speakers which are connected to my PC, by using Airfoil, an app for Mac OS X. Airfoil is available for Windows too, I think. Airfoil

    @jainashal
Your speakers may have high quality audio amplifiers,
built in with noise reduction/bass control/treble control etc.
IT just needs an audio input .

PC 's audio output fed to a FM transmitter , decoded with another
Fm receiver and that audio is connected to your speaker system.

SO you need a wireless FM transmitter and FM receiver.
( Power of FM B/C band transmitter should not exceed 100 mW)
and strictly to be used Indoors.

Thanks tech_enthu & essbebe for your inputs..

    I think i finally have 3 options,

    1. Using FM transmitter with laptop & a FM receiver with the speaker system (i now understand how to make the connection, although not very sure about sound quality if i use FM Radio as receiver).
    2. Using Bluetooth Stereo Audio Receiver, the model i found is Jensen WB210 in appx 2K.
With this i need not attach any other hardware with the laptop as it is already bluetooth enabled (v2.1). But i still have to see how to configure laptop to send audio on bluetooth.
    3. Third is, Hauppauge wMVP. It can transmit both Audio,Video & pictures wirelessly (based on 802.11G wireless network) to TV or any other audio system & has its own transmitter (USB) & receiver. Has ethernet connectivity option also(not useful for me). It has advanced functionality & expected to be at around 3K in market.

@tech_enthu in case you are interested, more details can be find here Hauppauge Computer Works : wMVP

So people how do you rate these options for Sound Quality to Price ratio. Also let me know if you know any similar device as Hauppauge wMVP.

Beware that when you transmit using FM then ur neighbours can also tune in and listen on their own radio.

2nd wudnt using FM frequencies be illegal? I thought u need permission for using FM frequencies.
