That's an incorrect claim on part of the airline..coz its not completely fog proof as Delhi airport doesnt have Cat III C ILS which allows landings with 0 RVR and No DH ; the ILS that delhi airport has is Cat III B which allows landings with minimum 50 M visibility (RVR) and DH of 35 feet, provided that the crew has requisite ratings
Thus when there is zero visibility due to fog there is no airline international or Indian that can land or takeoff but days with such severe fog are comparatively less in the foggy season.

Nice to hear that info. I personally like to travel by IndiGo as they are ones who have an outstanding on-time record and with this addition I think their job got easier.
The ultimate thing to add would be CAT-IIIC. The plane can even land even when the visibility drops down to zero!
yeah with CAT III C systems, autoland is used with pilot sitting back and the plane just lands itself at precisely the spot where it should..and even tracks the runway centre-line using the localiser with pilot merely applying reverse thrust..quite advanced tech![]()
autoland can be used with other categories of ILS too but its mandatory for cat III-C

having a CAT-IIIB Aircraft is possible for safer journey, but are our Indian Airports compatible with this technology, I strongly doubt, they may only be a few if it exists.
Most modern aircraft are CAT IIIA/B/C equipped..limitation is crew rating and airport equipment. IGIA or delhi airport is the only airport in India having cat IIIB ILS operational on r/w 28; and 11/29 .. infact its amongst very few in S. Asia to have it
CAT III comes into picture only when landing with poor visibility otherwise it does not hold much relevance in clear weather.

IndiGo may be fog proof but are they pilots trained?
