ah right, the rpm/yum stuff seems inefficient/slow compared to dpkg/apt, especially on a slow 256kbps connection, thats one of the reasons im on ubuntu and not fedora or opensuse/gnome, but its not a big hassle... and i havent seen any issues like corruption/instabilities, have you?

nothing against rpm.still rpm or any package mechanisms in linux I dont felt will come near apt+dpkg (or use wajig ;) ).

also,it is easy to make .debs using debian packaging tools.while it takes a lot of work in make specs file in rpm.
Infact,I heard rpm5 is better.y dont these rpm distros use that! :S

Found this link on the latest openSUSE weekly news: Duncan Mac-Vicar P. Blog Archive fast package management

If this package management is really this fast on ver 11 and they offer the latest KDE 3.x as an install option then I might drop Ubuntu at home and switch back to openSUSE 11

Yay! Finally GUFW (GNOME UI for the firewall) Ubuntu Unleashed: Introducing GUFW the Uncomplicated Firewall GUI for Ubuntu Linux Hardy Heron!!

Hope this (or something like it) goes into Hardy 8.04.1 or Intrepid!
