Vodafone live can't be used in PC In internet explorer..

It Can be used in OPERA and Firefox.

To Use Do Manual Settings as Below..

> Create connection using Nokia PC suite’s “Connect To Internet” furthur setting
Access Point as "portalnmms”, then it will be displayed in ur “Connect To” menu.

> Connect It.

>Go To Opera Web Browser

>Then, Tools> Preferences> Advanced> Network> Proxy Servers> Then Put
10.10.1.100 in all values and port no. to 9401.

Now start using it. Dats It.

I am using VL111 Unlimited Service from 7 Jan-10 (In Gujarat) , And have utilized maximum of it. You wont believe that my Download Log on mobile shows a whooping 4.5 GB downloaded data.

This is great service provided by Vodafone. I have researched a lot on dis.
Here It is:

Vodafone Live and other similar services (Airtel Live!) do not allow the use of the mobile's internet service on a computer. Generally these types of services are called as WAP Internet package. They do not allow users to go users directly to the internet, data has to be passed on from a proxy server. This provides the service provider an easier management to restrict the users from accessing certain services that are not allowed under this package.

our PC browser (Opera) and use internet.

But the question is, Why it is not possible to use the same in IE or Firefox???

Read This:

"Service Providers do not allow any device other than a mobile to use the Internet service. This infact is difficult to ascertain. This is because of the lack of support in the underlying protocols. Most protocols do not carry (actually they aren't meant to) the user related information. The only information that the service provider is able to rely on is the user-agent attribute in the HTTP header in every HTTP request. The idea behind this attribute was to allow the webservers to format the output based on the user's device profile so it can fit well on the user's device. Generally the user-agent information carries the browser's name, operating system information. Given that most of our requests are going to be HTTP(S) based (while browsing), this is enough for the service provider to restrict the use of internet on the computer."

Thus the main factor in blocking other applications is the "USER-AGENT" part.

>Change the user-agent of ur browser, and internet is open on that browser.
>Firefox can help with this, but for IE i am not sure.

Settings for firefox:

> Tools> Options> Network> Settings> Add proxy 10.10.1.100 and Port 9401
> Type about:config in URL part; proceed with the notice given.
> Right Click any where> New> String>
> Give the Name as "general.useragent.override" (it does not exists)
> Give its value as "WinXP" or anything like that.

Now SURF! Njoy VF live in Firefox.

-Any of Your Choice.

Just remember to configure its proxy to Vodafone's proxy.

I tried a lot for downloading torrents, bt in vain. As it is http proxy, no other ports are allowed. So no BT in mobile or PC using VF.

> But if you use software "HTTP Tunnel" and Vuze, then it may let you download torrent. But problem is, software is not free!
