Try changing the DNS settings to 67.138.54.120 and 207.255.209.77
i am unable to open a lot of sites since morning. it is similar to what was happening about a month ago on a regular basis. some sites are just extremely slow and others are not opening at all(including gmail). ibf seems to be ok
why do they do this on weekends..
is everyone on mtnl having issues???
EDIT: things seem to have improved within minutes of my posting![]()

Speed on Indian servers is normal but on international servers is really really poor
i could not connect at all yesterday morning, when you guys has this issue.
i called up 1504, guy asked me what exchange and when i told him, he said the MTNL server was down for my exchange area and I shld wait a few hrs...... Great tech support from MTNL(YES they agree they suck as an ISP, the server is unfunctional Broken and they cant/wont fix it till later !! Height of complacency)
anyway thankfull it was fixed by late afternoon
I seem to have a stable connection with the modulation type set to G.dmt
But couldn't open web sites.
Here's what worked for me.
On my D-Link 502T, I've selected "Disable DNS Relay" and manually listed four DNS servers on my pc...
OpenDNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
MTNL
59.185.0.50
203.94.243.70
So far, so good...
Still not conclusive to say whether its the modem or MTNL which is screwed up. Maybe someone who faces the same problem could try this and post.
Use open DNS servers.. They are really good..
I have been using it for almost an year now
