Hi ,
I live in New Delhi and had applied for this service on 29.05.09 late in the evening.
Their people reached my place the same night ! (They had called up prior to that and asked if they can come that very night as one of their agents live close by my place) .The payments etc were made and my installation request was posted in their office on 30.05.09 morning as by the time he left my place their office had already closed. He left assuring me an installation in at the most 7 days.
i Got a call from their representative on the 3.06.09(i.e 5th day after payment/Installation request was made) asking for the appropriate time to come over and install the STB etc but unfortunately that got pushed due to my unavailability at home that evening so i told him to come the next day which he didnt !
So i made some calls to the CC on the 4th june asking for this guy's whereabouts and the reason for not coming. i was assured my them that tmrw (i.e 5th june ) my installation will take place for sure(i.e the 7th day from the date payment was made on).
INSTALLATION :
The two representatives that came by were technically equipped and the only reason that prolonged the installation to 45 Mins was the laziness of Mtnl guys at their office to increase my bandwidth to 3MBps or more in order to recieve the transmission.
Anyways the installation took place smoothly after that and the only point at which they fumbled was binding the frequency of their universal remote with that of my TV and AC (yes u can monitor any 2 more devices from the same remote(universal) u use to operate your STB).They had to call up their seniors to get it right and thats how the installation ended.
Their representatives were open to queries and even left their work phone no in case i was facing any problems regarding the functionality..
some more facts :
1. They supply a normal RCA out cable(YEllow,Red and White) for STB output to TV
2.Star Cricket has finally been added to their sports channels
3.When i asked about recording the guy told that whenever it is enabled(from the backend/office we can just insert your usb drives/external hdds to get that recorded stuff in our hands(which though is a rosy picture but will probably face a lot of copyright issues from various channels on Myway)
Heres are the pics of the STB and the universal remote :-
As i have a TV tuner card (PCTV 110i Analog)
i present some caps of their interface and picture quality which looks a slightly better on TV btw :
Update :-
Other features :
1. You can set up 20 of your favourite channels so with a click of a FAV button on the remote this screen comes up so you dont need to remember their channels numbers individually
2.You can set up reminders of your favourite programs by looking up the electronic program guide and pressing the yellow button on the remote control .
You can set up reminders of upto 2 days from the current day and a log of the same is also created in myzone>preferences>view reminders !
This reminder settings comes in very handy to a person like me who uses a TV tuner as i can set up reminders for different programs on different channels and the channels get changed automatically as per the electronic program guide !
The interface looks fine as of now and will explore more of it later..
Cya !

does it goes out when u loose ur mtnl broadband conxn? also does it reset every 6 hr like the broadband?
How is the channel changing speed?
yes u have to have an mtnl/bsnl connection in order to install myway in delhi/other states , they dont offer it otherwise(atleast in delhi, do check their site)...
i dont think it will reset itself after 6 hours as i had been a customer of mtnl's iptv (the one by aksh optifibre) and that didnt use to go off after every 6 hours ...hope the same will true for this one as well ...
----------
the only moment the stb makes you wait is when it starts(15-25 seconds), otherwise the channel switching time is ok(1-2 seconds) ,could have been better
channel changing speed is slow in airtel iptv too
i think it is because the stb has to practically shift to another URL type thing to get the feed and then decrypt it.![]()

@ jayant
Im at chennai and the STB remote that was given to me looks quite different! (The 4 buttons next to the power button.. namely, STB, TV, Aux, etc are unavailabale.. and the silver patch on the remote is also missing...)
With doubt, i called up the tech ppl. and they said, looks like yours is not an universal remote but one that could control only the STB![]()
They enquired about the money that i had paid and i said its 1000/- the reply was shocking to me.. they said i needed to pay 2000/- for the universal remote.. i was never told such an information by the call centre or the marketing ppl!
The question: How much have you paid initially..? Guess there's some difference between BSNL and MTNL.....
----------
Have one other question as well...
When i keep watching TV continuously for about 45 mins or 1 hour (the time varies), the screen freezes and the DSL light on the modem keeps blinking... Sometimes., it is up on its own and the screen resumes playback...
But few hours back.., the same thing happened and the screen never came back with the DSL blinking forever.., On checking, i found out that the telephone line was dead!!!![]()
This gets resolved 'automatically':
- When there is an incoming call and the telephone starts ringing all of a sudden!
- After a few minutes or hours.., the line is up all by itself...
Can you believe this kind of a situation...?
Has any of this happened with you?
Kartik, In your case, it seems there is NO SPLITTER installed....Connect the SPLITTER and check!!!
Hi, thanks for the comment but, i do have a line in -->to--> adsl/telephone splitter installed .. without which the broadband connection would not have been possible all these days.....
I use Mtnl and had paid Rs 2000 only for the payment , i dont think that there was any provision of a Rs 1000 offer in delhi , but the guy did say that "myway is providing you with a universal remote free of cost but its actual cost in the market is Rs 1000 " and now i know that he indirectly meant that we have included 1000 bucks in it already !
nope i haven't had any such issues , may be a problem with your rj-11 "adsl wire" coming out from the splitter to the modem/router ....
