Has the minister said in his statement that he contacted Indian Authorities and they refused to cooperate and delete the material ? Or did he assume the material would not be deleted , if its the former , i hold him responsible for the CP

    The Minister said:

"Aber da gerät man an seine Grenzen, wenn der Server z.B in Indien steht. Ein hochkompetentes Land, was Computertechniken angeht, aber ein Land, das keinerlei Form von Ächtung von Kinderpornografie hat. Da können sie nicht mehr löschen."

"That is when you hit the wall, when the servers are located for example in india. A country with high capable country when it is about computer technology, but it does not have a proscription against child pornography. You can`t delete there"

(proscription in the meaning of condemning, hating)

When a minister said that it is not possible to delete child porn material on servers located in indian, then it is obviously that the minister tried to get this stuff deleted.

I would be pretty outraged about that.

Either india has a government/ opolice protecting child pornography or your government just does not care if the whole indian nation and society gets blamed for an abhorrent crime.

Ask someone in germany about child pornography in india. He would say:

"What a shame that it is not possible to delete child porn from indian computers. Why does the indian government and police don`t delete this material? What is wrong with the indian people? It makes me sick. Thank our family minister for getting this on the agenda"

Here's some german news (in english).

    Its an op-ed

In the latest installment of Portnoy’s Stammtisch, our column about life in Germany, Portnoy slams the government’s attempt to block child pornography online as a ham-fisted assault on civil liberties.

    Kiddie porn is bad, okay?

But authorising a spooky government agency to create a secret framework for blocking internet sites that politicians deem distasteful is a recipe for a dark future and a distraction for those that were actually fighting the good fight against child abuse.

Nonetheless, the German parliament on Thursday is expected to approve legislation that will allow the Bundeskriminalamt, or the country’s federal criminal police, to index and block alleged child pornography sites.

This legislation is the brainchild of Ursula von der Leyen, Germany’s conservative family minister and previously my favourite member of Chancellor Angie’s otherwise bumbling cabinet. She’s been rebranded Censorsula – Zensursula in German – by the web community despite her protestation she merely wants to protect the children. But then you have to wonder why she’s pushing legislation that sends Germany’s G-Men after websites rather than criminals.

Which serves as a handy transition to the first problem with this loopy legislation – the index will serve as a handy warning to kiddie porn peddlers that the government is on to them. It’s like a postcard informing them that their time is up. Only, it’s not – just their website’s time is up.

And to anyone who’s delved beyond the e-mail and HTML levels of the web, it’s apparent that the block will do little. Ever heard of newsgroups? IRC filesharing? How about USB sticks? Friends tell me these are the places you can get your favourite English-language TV shows, Lily Allen albums and viruses that attack bytes, not pigs and people.

But these superficial loopholes just show how little thought went into the thing. The reason I and 134,000 German internet users signed a digital government petition are against this thing is the door it opens: Once the architecture is in place – and the country’s internet service providers are complying – it won’t take much to expand the block.

The concept of censoring the internet is nothing new – American corporations have floated the idea for years using the logic that if they provide it to you, they should have some say in what’s on it. And other countries are already doing it, all of them bastions of democracy such as China and North Korea.

So, you know, Germany will be in good company. Thanks a bunch, Censorsula.
    yep,

    Mein gott, Ursula !!

your exploits have reached all the way to India now !!

All your questions have already been answered. You should be thankful that were still entertaining you here when you accuse indians of pedophilia. I don't want to argue about where your minister was wrong and what he tried to meant. It's quite clear that he's an as$hole for making such a retarded statement without backing his source or even talking to indian authorities.

You want to paint an image of indians according to your own needs then you do it in your own country. Yes, we burn our women on holidays and sacrifice christians to please kali. We can be whatever you want us to be in germany. But not here.

hell yeah she did. and she could have only done that at home to achieve whatever release she wants from there own social evil. im not denying the possibility of some people uploading some thing on indian servers but accusing the indian authority for playing a supporting part in all this is just plain "blaming". ms. lady desperado.

either this 80040 is a really concerned citizen or some troll.

    Namasde @ all friends here,

I try to provide you some more information about this "access blocking" (DNS manipulation) thing in Germany.

Some german netactivist analysed leaked blocking lists (search wikileaks) from other countrys and geolocated the "child porn servers".

    http://scusiblog.org/wp-content/uplo...orld-chart.png

As you can see, India is not colored, so, there are no servers (with cp) found, located in India!

An other guy did an experiment with "notice and take-down" messages (abuse mail to the providers).

You can read here (in english)

    Delete, don’t block: It works! | UnPolitik.de

Think about, that our geman ministress pushes the police (interpol) to install internetfilter in all 187 countrys.

Interpol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then it is a small step to block not only childporn, but religious or political content.

Pleas support us and write in your blogs or inform your newspapers about german politics.

    Thanx

Yes, this is what will happen. No more free speech.

But there is no question of national security in this case is there ?

It is now about blocking anything that is immoral

In India they block sites that are considered dangerous to society. Mostly hate propaganda against one community or another.

There have been many ppl blogging about it but the govt. wins because to keep peace & harmony is more important.
