It's been a long wait. Nice review!
It has been more than two months since the release of last preview from the Opera Stable. And the latest preview seems to be more aimed at making the first view of the opera browser more simple for new users. User Interface has been thoroughly redesigned yet again with fewer options on the front end. Complicated settings have been moved to deeper levels of options.
Some of the most noticeable features are close button on the tabs, a popup blocker notifier. Popup blocking is enabled by default now on fresh installs. There is a new recycle bin button, which lists the blocked popups and closed tabs, giving easy accessibility. And M2 (Opera Mail Client) users will like the updated auto-resizing reply box in the mails.
Another interesting feature are the security icon (padlock) and RSS icon that comes in the address bar itself when on a secure page or a page correctly linked to a valid RSS newsfeed. For more information, the Changelog is located here. Users can download the new beta from the Opera Forums Post.
However, considering this is a preview release users are not recommended to use this browser for critical purposes.

It's been a long wait. Nice review!
And it talks too! You can now select any text and right click and press speak. Provided you have the libraries loaded. Excellent for a 6meg download.
Here is an adapted default skin for people who does not like the close tab button in Opera... ;) Picked up from Opera forum...

Thanks a lot for the skin!
Firefox has been hogging the news since the last couple of days with its first final version release with plans to snatch up to 10% of the browser market share in the coming year. However, there is another browser, which has survived every @$$ault in the web browsers field.
Opera Browser has been the third most popular browser in the market since quiet many years. It has seen the Netscape Era, it survived the Internet Explorer scare, and now it is doing pretty good with Firefox taking the center stage. It is in version 7.xx now and is possibly the most feature rich browser (not a skin for another rendering engine) out of the box and that too in a sub 4meg download (without java).

cool!
Opera is one of the companies, which regularly update their prime offering in Opera Browser, and the latest release from the company is Opera Browser 8.01. This is the first update to the version 8 of the browser, which was released amongst a massive publicity campaign by the company. In fact, the company claims that more than 5 million copies of the browser have been download from the official sources.
This latest release comes with a handful of security flaws, including some that could be used by phishers and other attackers to spoof Web sites. The official website claims that this update fixed around five problems related to security issues found by the various agencies around the world. Some of the flaws fixed in this update are related to the XMLHttpRequest redirect vulnerability and cross-site scripting bugs in the original version 8 release.

Opera Browser ASA has done it again. The browser application remains smaller than four Megs in its download size and this time they have incorporated a Bittorrent client in the default package! This new feature is available in the just launched test version codenamed Opera 8.02 technical preview 1. The company is expected to launch this preview version publicly later today as the download is currently just available on the servers.
