    Default Sun direct's plans as reported in TOI

    This is in today's TOI; I could not locate it in the on line edition. Hence this summary.

    1. It crossed 1 million customers in 200 days.
    2. Subscribers are spread across Tamilnadu in a 60:40 rural urban ratio. (What about other southern states?}
    3. Uses MPG4 technology which means the company is able to compress 22 channels in a transponder, whereas with MPEG2 (dish tv and tatasky) only 12 channels can be compressed. (So sun's 6 transponders and tatasky's 12 transponders even ot)
    4. Under the basic package, sun offers 100 channels, dish, box and a year's subscription at Rs. 1999 (inclusive of rs. 1000 as installation charges).
    5. Sun is also the only DTH platform to provide HDTV in India. A lot of English channels use high definition format and Hindi and regional language movies are now being broadcast through this technology. We are in talks with NGC, FOX and other channels for HDTV content.
    6. Sun Direct als plans to launch its services in Maharastra, Delhi ....... Orissa, Jharkan. (14 states)

    Quite interesting. Worth watching!

    They are planning to launch all over India soon by Aug 15 or even before.

    Is it confirmed news that they plan to launch in other parts of India on or before Aug 15
