    Default regsvr.exe error

When I open windows, in the beginning it says some error like "regsvr.exe could not be found.. pls check" and also I cannot regedit in run command. regedit is disabled by your admin, it says.. Any help... I think it is a virus..

could be a virus.. can u open task manager?

    Also download icesword:

    Anti Rootkit Software - IceSword

Look for the autorun.inf files in the root of every drive using the above and note the entries and paths referenced in the autorun.inf and delete the files referenced. Delete files in the root which look suspicious after googling them using the above.

I can open Task Manager, msconfig. But cannot open regedit..

and I searched for Autorun.inf file, but wasn't there.. so I can assume virus is not there in my comp now ?

the pesky usb viruses might not be there in ur pc, but others might be. Try scanning with an av as suggested by cool_techie.

I have avira av. I ve moved regsvr.exe to quarantine.. But the problem doesnt end here. on Desktop when I double click on any icon, properties option opens up.. though i could able to run the program by right clicking and opening... same way it is happening with local drives
Now, i could not open regedit, msconfig. Only thing i can open is Task manager. when i started the windows, and opened task manager, in process tab, two regsvr.exe were running and I end processed it.....

r u positive u used icesword to look for autorun.inf files? They sometimes won't show up in normal explorer mode.

    Also look at this:

    regsvr.exe | Spyware-Virus Files and Process
