Vodafone India Mobile: Vodafone GPRS randomly stops working on iPhone...need to restart phone...phone or voda problem?

I dont know where is the problem, Vodafone or iphone (because i have never used GPRS for more than 15-20mins and never used iphone either)

May be u can try with another mobile and check. May be u can also try with another iphone (if u can get hold of)

Also my nokia mobile has "connectivity" option somewhere in menu. From which I can disconnect GPRS session. So may be iphone has that feature too, atleast it wud get u rid of rebooting iphone everytime.

I have been having the same issue for the last frickin month! I've tried 4 different iphones, two 3g iphones that belong to me (one official vodafone and one jailbroken) and two 2g iphones that belong to friends (both jailbroken and unlocked). Everything was working find until about a month on all iphones but not its a major issue. I keep having to turn on airplane mode for about 10 seconds and then turn it off, thereby rebooting the network and then it works fine until the next time. This problem is on iphone 3.0 as well as 2.2.1 so I know it is NOT an iphone issue.

However, Vodafone customer service keeps telling me its not a problem from their end but when i physically went to a Vodafone store to talk to a customer service guy, he admitted that its a problem with their networks. No one has been able to offer a solution so I am just as stumped. My push notifications can't work because of this and its a major inconvenience.

ANYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM PLEASE CALL VODAFONE ON 9820098200. The guy said they haven't received any other complaints so we need to keep these morons on their toes!

I am jelous. :O 3GS. I have a 3G but Since I am at home most of the time, Preparing for an Exam, I use internet through WiFi. I am with Airtel(Unlocked from AT&T), and didnt find any point, using slow EDGE on the phone for 500/month when I am at home, most of the time where I have wifi.
Anyway one thing you could do is download, SBsettings, and then you can just flick your finger on top of the screen and switch on/off Edge which should reset the EDGE.
Maybe this can save you time and help you out as a temporary setting.

PS- How much are you paying for your data plan with Vodaphone?

Most probably a Vodafone problem. I have found GPRS down quite often especially before 8 am !!!:O
