google itself has not done good in this market.
first they launched http://pages.google.com/
and now they are forcing people to migrate to google sites.
google sites is different from google pages as it is more of a wiki than a static site builder.

yep, i think u cant write ur own HTML, u have to use their template type frontend.

There are so many free web hosts which offer fantastico like script installers , newbies should look at them
of course there are. we also have tons of free blogging services. but services like tripod and geocities made it possible for us to have a web page way back in late 1990s.![]()

I was using it for temporary storage of small files . Make files , store it on Geocities in
organized manner ; give links to the needed . You may not believe , its a considerable
loss for me . I may not get such simple hosting elsewhere ...
